ISAW (ee’-sau)
Isaw is a street food from the Philippines, made from chicken intestines. The intestines are cleaned, turned inside out, and cleaned again, repeating the process several times. They are then either boiled, then grilled, or immediately grilled on sticks.
They usually sell it on the sidewalks in a very cheap price, and I find it very yummy! especially when it’s still fresh from the grill.
You can also dip it on the sauce of your choice, may it be vinegar or ketchup! sweat n' sour or spicy hot!
You could also eat it as a viand or as a snack. Just eat it with rice then it can be a tasty viand.
But the buyer should also make sure that the intestines are cleaned well. -of course. You can also prepare it at home, just to make sure. :]
